The Slot Floor Itself

At our ACE Casino Airport property on 40 Aero Crescent NE, the slot floor usually runs in the area of 638 to 650 machines. It is a big footprint and it feels like it. The room is laid out to move people, not squeeze them, so the aisles are wide and you are not shoulder to shoulder trying to grab an empty chair. You can actually walk the floor and browse before you sit.

We sit just a few minutes from YYC Calgary International Airport, right beside the Clique Hotel. For local players it is easy to reach from the north side, and for travellers it is basically an airport-neighbour stop. On the floor you will see penny slots, mid-denomination machines and higher-stakes options all living in the same overall space. There is no sharp “high limit room only” wall-off - it feels like one continuous slot area.

Alongside the regular slot machines we also run 12 VLT machines. These are under provincial regulations and they do not behave quite the same as our standard slots. Game menus, payout structure, the way wins are calculated - the whole model is its own format. If you want VLTs specifically, you do not have to change venues; both traditional slots and VLTs sit under the same roof here.

Slot players are mixed in with more than just machines. The table games pit and the poker room operate right alongside the slot floor so switching over during a visit is simple. The poker room is its own enclosed area with 12 tables, not a few tables jammed into a corner of the main gaming space.

Getting Started on the Floor

We run as a land-based, cash-play casino. You do not set up an account, you do not download an app, and you are not sitting through any digital registration before you start. The process on a typical visit is pretty straightforward.

  1. Come in through the main entrance off Aero Crescent NE. There is free customer parking right on site so you are not dealing with airport-style paid lots.
  2. If you brought cash, you can go straight to the cage to break bills, or you can feed notes into a bill acceptor at most modern machines. The bulk of the slot bank is set up to take bills directly.
  3. From there you pick a game. The denomination is shown on the machine glass or the main screen. A lot of players start out on the minimum bet for a few spins just to see how the bonus features and line hits behave before they move their bet size.
  4. Once you are ready, use the main spin button or hit max bet if that is how you prefer to play. On video titles there is usually an autoplay function as well.
  5. Keep an eye on the credit meter on screen. When you are finished with that machine, press cash-out and the TITO printer will spit out a ticket with your remaining balance.
  6. That ticket can either go into another slot if you want to keep hopping around, or you can walk it over to the cage for payment.
  7. At the cashier window we redeem the ticket and you walk away with your cash in CAD.

Because the floor uses a TITO system, your money is not tethered to a single cabinet once you load it. You can roam through banks of machines, trying different games and denominations, while just carrying one printed ticket. With well over 600 machines in place, that flexibility matters more than you might think.

One small observation we see in practice: on a large floor like ours, the machines at busy walkways tend to get played harder. That can mean you occasionally wait a bit longer for a specific popular title near a main path during peak evenings. It is not a hard rule or a policy, just a pattern regulars notice.

Promotions and What They Are Tied To

We run several floor-level offers that connect directly to slot activity. One of the steady pieces is our “Cash is King” Friday cash draws program. These draws are linked to live play on the floor, so your time at ACE Casino Airport slots is usually part of how you earn entries or eligibility for that promo.

From time to time we roll out seasonal events as well. Past examples include things like the “Lucky Golden New Year” promotion, again tied in with slot play as part of the structure. In short, if you are spinning, you are typically also helping trigger promo-related benefits when they are active.

Details on promotions are not static. Draw times, how you qualify, which offers are currently live - all those parts change on a rotating basis. We keep the current terms posted both in the building and on acecasinos.ca, so a quick check before you head over can help if you care about a particular promo window or limited-time event.

There is one practical piece to keep in mind. Some of the draw-based promotions require you to be physically in the casino when names or tickets are pulled. If your plan is built around a specific Friday cash draw for example, showing up ahead of time gives you a chance to get some slot play in and make sure you are covered for any “must be present” part of the rules.

Slot Floor Numbers and Layout

Slot Floor Numbers and Layout

ACE Casino Airport operates approximately 638 to 650 slot machines on a single continuous floor at 40 Aero Crescent NE, Calgary. The layout is designed with wide aisles, so moving between machines and browsing before sitting down is straightforward rather than cramped.

Alongside the main slot machines, the venue also runs 12 VLT machines under provincial regulations. VLTs operate under a different format from standard slots - different game menus, payout structures, and win calculations - but both types sit under the same roof.

The broader floor includes:

  • Approx. 638-650 slot machines
  • 12 VLT machines
  • 26 table games
  • 12-table dedicated poker room
  • 2 VIP salons

The casino is located minutes from YYC Calgary International Airport next to the Clique Hotel, with free parking available on site. Operating hours extend across most of the week with long daily sessions, making it accessible for both local players and travellers passing through Calgary.

Hours and Getting There

Our ACE Casino Airport location keeps a long clock. From Sunday through Thursday we are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 AM. On Fridays and Saturdays the doors stay open around the clock. For Calgary players that makes us one of the easier choices for late-night slot runs, or those odd early-morning sessions when you have just flown in or flown out through YYC.

Access by car is simple. The property sits right off Deerfoot Trail and Airport Trail, which are two of Calgary’s main traffic routes. You do not have to navigate downtown to reach us. When you arrive, parking is on us and on-site, which removes an extra layer of planning around cost or walking distance.

If you need to get in touch, the main phone line is 403-287-1183. For media requests and similar, inquiries are handled through [email protected].

The Rest of the Property

Slot play is the core of the floor, but the building is set up for longer stays. We run an upscale restaurant, a sports bar, and lounge areas under the same roof. Those spaces are useful when you want to grab a meal, watch a game, or just reset away from the machines without actually leaving the property.

For players who prefer more privacy, we also have two VIP salons. These private areas are managed on-site, so access and expectations are handled case by case. If that matters for how you like to play, it is worth asking at the cage or with floor staff about what is currently available in the VIP rooms. Across the property you will find free Wi-Fi, which is handy if you are traveling or just want to stay connected while you play.

ACE Casino Airport opened its doors in November 2022 as part of the ACE Casinos family. Our group also runs ACE Casino Blackfoot at a different Calgary address. Both locations share the ACE Casinos branding, but the Airport site is the one positioned directly by YYC and the main north corridor routes into and out of the city.

Before Your First Visit

If you are planning a first trip to ACE Casino Airport slots, a quick pre-visit check can save time at the door and on the floor.

  1. Bring government-issued photo ID. Alberta casino regulations require age verification every time, and entry staff will ask for it. There are no exceptions on that front.
  2. Plan around cash as your main way to play. The slot and VLT floor is cash-fed, with TITO tickets handling movement between machines. If you arrive light, ATM access is usually available inside the building.
  3. Remember that customer parking is free and located right at the property, so you do not have to budget for parking fees. 4 . Keep in mind that hours can shift a bit around holidays or special events. A quick look at acecasinos.ca or a call to 403-287-1183 is smart if you are aiming for a late-night arrival.
  4. On promotion or draw days, being early tends to help. Some promos lean on time spent on the floor before the draw, and you do not want to miss a window because you arrived right at the last minute.

We are listed on Travel Alberta as an active, year-round attraction, not a seasonal pop-up. For Calgary locals, north side players, or travellers connecting through YYC, the combination of location, operating hours, and the scale of the ACE Casino Airport slots floor makes the property a very functional spot to play. If you are anywhere near the airport corridor, it is frankly hard to miss us.
